Camping Chairs

We are helping support a Wamba Wamba & Dhudhuroa, Waywurru man who has set up an Indigenous men's art and mental health healing group. He saw a need for Indigenous men in his local community to reconnect to country & culture, to gather, and provide a culturally safe & supportive space. Somewhere men can connect, express themselves through art, cooking, share stories, and engage in healing practices that promote wellbeing, resilience, & personal growth.

The men create culturally significant objects such boomerangs, shields, message sticks & didgeridoos, while sharing stories, helping reconnect to culture. They have a few camping chairs to sit on; many are old & have difficulty getting up off the ground. The food and wood are provided by 1 person, paid for out of his own pocket, but is finding this more difficult due to rising costs. There is a need to reach more men, particularly those who may be isolated or unable to access traditional support services.
