Our community has families that are quite disadvantaged in many ways. They struggle with parenting and making friends

Our school currently has a parent coffee group where parents can interact with each other and enjoy a coffee together. These parents are enjoying this space but there is nothing 'Special" about bottled coffee. These parents don't have the money to spend on coffee and they don't connect with the wider community. They generally keep to themselves. Most also have limited skills. We are trying to change that by providing an opportunity for support, to learn the art of making coffee and connection with other parents within the school community in a positive way. The coffee machine will teach a skill, create a culture of sharing and caring by offering the opportunity for parents to make coffee for each other, teachers and other school community members on special days, in order to build personal confidence as well as positive relationships. I am the chappy at the school who wants to drive this project. Many years ago I owned my own coffee shop, therefore feel I have the skills required.
