Dari1 came to Australia from Afghanistan and is experiencing secondary homelessness. She currently resides in our emergency accommodation where she experiences significant isolation due to limited English language skills, and her family being overseas. Dari1 is an older woman who is living with chronic pain and other health related issues. She continues to experience the adverse impact of trauma and worry regarding her family who remain in unsafe environments. Dari1 is an incredibly resilient woman who is joyful despite overwhelming stress. I would love her to be able to have her own sewing machine to occupy her time, to help financially by making her own clothing and to give back to the community by donating clothing that she makes.
