A First Nations mother is currently supporting her child who was born with a rare genetic disorder to access specialised support equipment. The mother, and children are currently experiencing homeless due to family violence and are experiencing significant economic hardship as a result, which has made it even more difficult to access much needed items for her son. The son is currently on the NDIS, however, has limited funding that means he is unable to access all the things he needs. They family are currently in Emergency Accommodation and being supported to find safe and secure housing. Any assistance to alleviate pressure from the family and to support her son's quality of life would be much appreciated.
