A mother living with a disability has recently given birth to twin babies while experiencing homelessness. Following the birth, she and her newborns are staying in temporary refuge accommodation and are working towards establishing a safe and stable future together.
The challenges of welcoming two newborn babies at once would be significant for any family, however this mother is navigating the additional barriers associated with disability, homelessness, limited financial resources and a lack of family support. As she focuses on caring for her babies and adjusting to motherhood, she is facing considerable hardship and uncertainty about the future.
Support from the community will help ease some of the pressure she is currently experiencing and provide hope during a very difficult time. Any assistance received will help this young family move towards greater stability, safety and wellbeing as they begin this important new chapter together.
