Young, reformed ,First Nations lady with an intellectual disability and of larger build is seeking a double bed for new home
When a transition back to community is achieved , empathy and support goes a long way. This is true for this First Nations lady who after spending time in corrections , has shown compassion and resilience in trying to do her best in her next chapter despite being faced with financial challenges since her transition including not being able to secure work due to an intellectual disability and past trauma from a childhood scarred with abuse and neglect. With assistance from her support team she has managed to secure safe and supported housing where she can have time to heal and work towards her goals in life. Safety and security which is a basic part of most of our lives is something she has struggled to obtain throughout her childhood and teenage years. Now as a young adult this goal is waiting for her. We are hoping to help her to furnish her new home with a bed as a stating point. Due to health complications as a result of her intellectual disability, a double bed is needed for safety
