I am writing in support of a single mother and her three children who have recently relocated to Carnarvon to escape family and domestic violence. The family arrived in Carnarvon approximately two months ago and have been residing in emergency accommodation while working towards establishing a safe and stable home environment.
The family has recently secured accommodation; however, they are facing significant financial hardship and currently have very few household possessions. They do not have a refrigerator or washing machine, both of which are essential items for maintaining a safe and healthy household.
A refrigerator is urgently needed to allow the family to safely store food and reduce ongoing food expenses. A washing machine is equally important to enable the mother to wash clothing, school uniforms, and bedding for her three children, supporting their health, wellbeing, and continued engagement in school.
