Client is a 55-year-old man who has recently moved into a public housing property. Client has a long history of homelessness and housing insecurity, including long stints of rough sleeping.
This client has been struggling to establish a routine in his new home, as he is not used to having stable accommodation.
When asked what would help him settle into his new home, this client identified that he would like support to access art supplies to start painting again. Practicing art would allow this client to engage in meaningful at-home activities, and would support him to build a routine in his new home. Engaging in his artwork would also promote positive self-expression and reduce stress. Engaging in his artworks would encourage mindfulness and would provide a sense of purpose.
Funding for art supplies will support this client's adjustment to his tenancy and to promote ongoing housing stability. He has also identified that he would like to display his works in his new home.
