Man sleeping rough on the street. Developed opioid addiction after injuring his spine. Due to limited literacy skills he has never secured supports that should have been in place for years.
He is ostracized at the emergency ward due to the addiction history, leaving him with additional difficulties securing supports.
He has a daughter but due to living on the street and being robbed regularly for his medication he has lost his phone and numbers. Assistance was provided to source contact with the daughter and a phone was provided. This created the happiest time for the man in the last few years.
Christmas 2025 the man was beaten and robbed by a local criminal and addict. He lost everything including his tent, phone, and phone book. He has started to adjust where he stays to be under cameras and is hoping to commence getting needs back in place Homeless and support services have secured him most things but he still requires a new phone to avoid cancel of house application
