A couple who were affected by the 2022 flood events in the Tweed Heads area lost the majority of their belongings and experienced significant distress while being relocated through various temporary accommodation arrangements.
They recently welcomed a newborn six weeks ago and have now secured long‑term housing, providing much‑needed stability for their family.
The male partner is currently awaiting a lung transplant and continues to manage ongoing and complex medical conditions. He had postponed aspects of his treatment and surgery to support his partner during pregnancy and the arrival of their baby.
The female partner is recovering from the birth of her first child and is also the primary carer for her partner, providing daily support while adjusting to her own postpartum needs.
Both partners are now working together to rebuild their lives and create a safe, stable environment for their newborn. The family would greatly benefit from material support.
