Young person (14) reunification with family
First Nations Support
Young person (14) was taken in to foster care at the age of 4 and since then has been living with a few different families, before moving to live in a children's residential home at the age of 12. The YP has diagnoses ADHD, ODD, anxiety and growth failure. He was struggling whilst living at the children's residential homes and was not coping living in this environment. We explored the YP to go back to live with his parents which has happened recently, and although it is going well, there is an extra amount of financial pressure on them to provide for their son. The YP is currently sleeping on an old mattress on the floor and is needing a new mattress and bed. Unfortunately, his family are unable to save up for this type of expense. Without financial assistance, there will be a lot of strain on his reunification to his family, and potential for this to break down.
