Books & Magazines - Children

Lyneham ACT 2602

Their daughter requires age appropriate, specialised books and resources to help her better understand her recent diagnosis of being neurodiverse. Additionally, as she is unable to attend school time due to health conditions - the family would like to give her some learning materials at home so she can continue feeling connected to school and the current curriculum.

Recipient story

Books and resources needed for family at risk of homelessness
Other hardship(s)
A family of three is currently living in a one-bedroom apartment and is at risk of homelessness while managing their daughter’s complex and high-level disability needs. Their daughter has been unable to attend school as consistently as hoped, though she remains highly motivated to continue her learning from home. As such, the family requires support in accessing educational resources, including books and study materials, to support her ongoing development.
Both parents experience their own mental and physical health challenges, however, mum continues to demonstrate resilience and strong motivation to support her family and improve their circumstances. While they focus on securing stable, long-term housing, the family is in need of assistance to access basic resources for themselves and to support their neurodiverse child.
