Single mother of 6 month old fleeing from Family Domestic Violence experiencing homelessness
Seeking support for a single mother and her 6-month-old son, who are currently couch surfing. The family were made homeless after fleeing from Family Domestic Violence. They stayed for 12 weeks in a refuge, but were forced to exit due to the accommodation stay ending. The family were left in a desperate situation, but were able to secure short term accommodation through family. However, due to FDV and a history of conflict, their current accommodation is not sustainable. Mother and baby fled with only the belongings they could fit in their car, meaning they are having to share a bed. This is negatively impacting mum and baby's sleep, which is impacting both of their emotional wellbeing. Due to FDV, the mother is experiencing financial hardship, which is preventing her from being able to re-purchase essential baby items for wellbeing and comfort.
