Communications and Design Volunteer St Mary’s House of Welcome is looking for a volunteer to help our fundraising team share our work with the community. In this role, you’ll create materials for fundraising campaigns, help prepare social media posts, refresh fundraising documents and update our website. Depending on your interests and skills, you may also help with photography or short videos. This could be a great opportunity for a communications or design student, recent graduate, or someone looking to build their portfolio. We’re looking for someone with a good eye for design, confidence using Canva and familiarity with Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Experience with Squarespace would be particularly helpful. You don’t need extensive professional experience; our team will provide briefs, content and feedback. The role is ongoing for up to eight hours a week, with flexible hours. You can volunteer from our Fitzroy office, remotely, or a mix of both. Your work will help more people learn about St Mary’s House of Welcome and support people experiencing homelessness.

We need your help to make sure we are able to continue to give to those who rely on us for everyday items most of us take for granted.

Donating brand new clothes, toiletries, towels and foodstuffs offers practical assistance to people who are homeless or disadvantaged—especially those who are sleeping rough.

We urgently need these clothing and food items for both men and women. Clients come to our centre each day for a shower and a hot meal. We are in desperate need of essentials such as food, tea/coffee, towels and toiletries for them.
