Two siblings aged 20 and 17 living with their mother and two younger siblings in a motel having experienced recent eviction outside of their control. Temporarily staying in a motel over 20km away from school and other supports. Mother left DFV and children returned to her care. Mother experiencing financial instability and mental health issues related to DFV trauma. 20yo has a disability and attempting to seek employment and NDIS support. Younger sibling engaged in school however is travelling over 2hrs per day to attend due to relocation. Currently all family members are using one phone between them all. They all have multiple needs for a phone that make it difficult to stay connected with services for each of them including being able to attend phone and telehealth appointments for housing support, DFV, mental health, GP, Centrelink, NDIS applications, connection with schools and for personal safety. Requesting 2 x mobile phones for the siblings to increase safety and independence.
