Mum is Aboriginal woman and the sole caregiver for her children, aged 4, 6, and 9. Mum relocated to escape domestic violence and continues to create a new life for her family. The family recently moved into a long term housing arrangement after spending approx 12 months in crisis motels and housing. This is a great victory for the family! Mum would love support from Givit donors to create a happy, healthy home environment and do her best to facilitate some basic comfort and minimise the impact of the climate on her family. Items of particular interest are a portable air cooler, a lawn mower and a full sized fridge. The family received a fridge from a Givit donation a couple of months ago, however unfortunately the fridge no longer works. An air cooler will support mum to create as comfortable environment as possible in NQs summer. And a lawn mower will allow mum to maintain her new long term property and take pride in her home.
