54-year-old South Indian woman with two children. She moved to Australia 14 years ago. She used to work as an accountant and was the breadwinner for her family. Her husband did not want to find work that was 'lower than his worth' so she had to work. Her husband wouldn't help with the chores, childrearing, or finances of the house in any way.
Her husband insulted her often due to her mental illnesses, she experienced physical abuse at his hands, and his actions were exposed to her children as well. Her son has been diagnosed with selective mutism; the result of exposure to DV that they witnessed their father inflict on their mother for 30 years. She finally called the police on her husband, who has since fled. Since then, she is now struggling to financially sustain herself and her family.
She is struggling to be able to get basic necessities for her family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
