Farmer trying to stay on top of his farm duties
2026 Victoria Bushfires
-My client is an 84 year old farmer who has lived and worked his land his entire life. Before him, his father, and before that, his father. He survived the 2019-2020 fires intact although like most farmers, his fencing was destroyed. In the 2026 fires, he lost a shed full of valuable farm equipment and tools. The shed was completely destroyed as well. An event like this is a traumatic experience for anybody, but even more so when you make your living off the land.
My client has moved into town (Wodonga) a few years back, in order for he and his wife to be able to be closer to health services. But he still travels to his land most days per week, to try and sort through the mess that was once his workshop. This travel is costing my client a lot of money considering the recent fuel scenario. He feels like he is being hit again. If there are any fuel vouchers that can be afforded my client, he would be most grateful.
