72-year-old single female who was recently relocated from Brisbane to the Gold Coast after safety concerns in her previous social housing complex, including exposure to hazardous chemicals, drug use, and violent incidents. With support from another organisation she was successfully transferred to safer accommodation.
However, the move has resulted in increased rent and electricity costs, placing additional strain on her limited income. In her previous residence she had access to a communal washing machine, but she no longer has this and is now relying on laundromat services, which are financially burdensome.
Additionally, she currently only has a small bar fridge with a minimal freezer capacity, significantly limiting her ability to store adequate food. Due to ongoing cost-of-living pressures, she does not have the financial means to purchase essential household items.
