22 year old Aboriginal woman and single mother of a four-month-old son who recently relocated from Cairns to Brisbane after leaving a domestic and family violence relationship with the child’s father. She left due to ongoing safety concerns, including repeated breaches of a Domestic Violence Order (DVO), to protect herself and her son.
She is currently staying with her mother while awaiting suitable accommodation and is now closer to supportive family members. She left Cairns with very limited belongings and is experiencing significant financial hardship. She relies on Centrelink payments, which are insufficient to meet the costs of caring for herself and her young baby. While awaiting permanent accommodation, she has limited capacity to purchase essential items needed to establish a home.
Any support that can be offered to her would be greatly appreciated.
