2026 Victoria Bushfires

Couple now living on the aged pension had spent many years building a dwelling that had been the perfect get away for family and friends. Their property had been at risk of bushfires prior to this year and had survived, but the 2026 bushfires totally destroyed their accommodation, machinery, water tanks and all other structures except for the toilet which remained standing. The next steps are not feeling easy for this family right now as they juggle increasing day to day costs and bigger picture decision making as what they had built took decades and full-time employment to achieve. To create some financial reprieve, we are seeking voucher support to assist with grocery shopping.
