This mum recently found out she has a rare melanoma. After months without answers, she was shocked to learn it had spread to a lymph node and is now stage 3. She is preparing to start treatment.
The cost of care has put a big strain on the family, making it hard to afford everyday needs. Food is a major worry, and fresh meals are not always possible.
She is using sick and unpaid leave while trying to save some for future treatment. As the main support for her family, she is under a lot of pressure.
At home, she cares for her young daughter with extra needs and has not told her about the cancer, trying to protect her while carrying this alone. The family is also dealing with another close relative going through cancer treatment.
