Durin a long battle with cancer, this older woman used all of her savings to pay for life-saving treatment. While she is in recovery, she now faces a new challenge, with no financial safety net, she is experiencing housing insecurity and is at risk of homelessness.
She recently came to DVCS seeking help with food and basic necessities. Our team has connected her with other support services and she is actively looking for work so she can regain her independence and rebuild her life. However, right now she is struggling to cover everyday essentials such as groceries, fuel and toiletries.
Reliable access to these basic items will help her attend appointments, search for employment and maintain her health and wellbeing during this difficult transition.
