A chronically ill Indigenous man continues to face severe and persistent physical and mental health challenges after losing everything in the devastating 2022 floods. The disaster destroyed his home, community connections, and stability, leaving lasting emotional and financial scars. Since then, his health has continued to decline, with ongoing medical conditions requiring costly treatments, medications, and support services. As a result, the majority of his income is consumed by medical expenses, leaving little to meet his basic daily needs. He is now in urgent need of food vouchers and petrol vouchers to ensure he can access essential nutrition and attend critical medical appointments. Without this support, his health and well-being remain at serious risk. Providing assistance would help him maintain access to food, continue attending medical care, and regain a sense of stability and dignity after years of compounded hardship.
