Supporting a single mother who has recently fled domestic violence to keep herself and her baby safe. She has been left with significant debts incurred by her former partner and, despite being promised support from family and friends, she has been left without assistance or stable housing.
Mum is currently homeless, living in a hotel with her baby, and struggling to meet daily costs. She is managing serious health conditions, including lung cancer, and the stress of her situation is having a major impact on her mental health.
Mum is trying to return to Queensland, where she can access medical care and longer‑term supports, however she is facing multiple barriers. Her car requires repairs, she is paying for a storage unit, and she cannot afford the fuel or accommodation costs needed to travel safely.
The family urgently needs:
Petrol vouchers to support her return to Queensland
Short‑term hotel or emergency accommodation or vouchers to keep her and her baby safe in the meantime
