Family of 5 without power since the January 2026 Bushfires nearly 10 weeks on.

Family of 5, fought the fires to save their uninsured home. Extensive damage and loss of outbuildings and power infrastructure destroyed. The family with 3 children under 12, eldest has now returned to school. The family are without power as Ausnet are not responsible for the connection to the house. The family have limited income and can not afford the expense of reconnection at this present time. they have no insurance. Family has now been without power for 10 weeks and is powering home with a diesel generator, mother is unable to fill jerry cans at local petrol station due to fuel shortage. Current location to fill up jerry cans is over a one hour trip away.
