Recipient story

A Stolen Generations survivor facing mental‑health challenges and isolation needs support to maintain wellbeing and stability
GIVIT
First Nations Support
An older Aboriginal man and survivor of the Stolen Generations is living alone in public housing with no family network to support him. He faces ongoing mental‑health challenges and is currently experiencing significant financial hardship, leaving him unable to replace essential household items.

With his washing machine no longer working, he has been hand‑washing his clothes — a task that is physically demanding and unsustainable. Without access to a functioning machine, maintaining basic hygiene becomes increasingly difficult and affects his health, dignity, and overall wellbeing.

He has no means to purchase a replacement on his own. Donor support would provide a vital household appliance that many people rely on every day, helping him maintain stability, independence, and a sense of dignity during a particularly vulnerable time.
