A middle-aged woman experiencing significant financial hardship alongside ongoing mental health challenges and a complex psychosocial disability. She has limited informal supports outside of the family home and is currently experiencing a breakdown in interpersonal relationships, which has increased social isolation and reduced access to practical assistance.
The client has a history of complex trauma which continues to impact her wellbeing and confidence. Due to her current financial circumstances following the loss of full-time employment capacity, she is unable to afford essential groceries and clothing. This has led to reduced self-esteem and reluctance to leave the house or engage with the community, appointments and support services.
Support with food and clothing vouchers would help restore dignity, improve confidence and enable her to participate more fully in daily activities and recovery. Vouchers from retailers such as Kmart or Target would be greatly beneficial.
