One of our Police Legatees is a devoted widow and mother to two young adult sons with disabilities who is facing severe financial hardship. Following the tragic loss of her husband four years ago, she exhausted her savings in a lengthy legal battle to keep her family home, leaving her with significant debt and ongoing housing insecurity.
For the past 18 months, serious health issues have prevented her from working, leaving the family reliant on food banks to meet their basic needs. One of her sons requires ongoing medications, therapies and specialist treatment, creating significant out-of-pocket medical expenses, while her other son balances caring responsibilities with part-time work.
Pharmacy vouchers would help cover the cost of essential medications, easing the family's financial burden and allowing her to put more towards housing, utilities and nutritious food during this incredibly difficult time.
