Single mother diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in 2021, with the cancer returning in October 2025. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and receiving support from a nutritionist. Treatment side effects include severe fatigue, low energy, and difficulty standing for long periods or managing daily household tasks.
Her eldest child, aged 17, has taken on significant caring responsibilities within the home and has also been impacted by previous family violence and parental separation.
The family is experiencing ongoing financial hardship. While the mortgage has temporarily been placed on hold, the household continues to face significant financial pressure due to reduced income and ongoing medical expenses. The family is still struggling to meet basic living costs such as groceries, household essentials, and school-related expenses.
