Our organisation supports vulnerable members of the Byron Shire community who are experiencing homelessness, domestic and family violence, financial hardship, and housing instability.
Since our emergency relief funding was withdrawn, we are increasingly faced with the difficult reality of turning people away or redirecting them elsewhere — often when they have no other immediate options.
We are seeking support in the form of grocery and fuel vouchers to assist individuals and families in crisis. These vouchers provide immediate, practical relief — allowing parents to feed their children, individuals to attend medical and Centrelink appointments, travel to employment opportunities, and maintain basic dignity during times of significant stress.
The demand for assistance has increased significantly, particularly with rising living costs and ongoing housing insecurity in our region.
