This hardworking Northern Rivers family of eight has been impacted by both the 2022 floods and Cyclone Alfred and continues to experience financial hardship.
The household recently expanded to include two grandchildren, increasing the family’s expenses. Their circumstances have become more challenging after the mother sustained an injury and is unable to work for approximately six weeks while she recovers, resulting in a temporary loss of income.
The family’s washing machine has recently stopped working and is beyond repair. With eight people in the household, access to a working washing machine is essential. Due to their current financial circumstances, the family is unable to afford a replacement.
Assistance with a washing machine would reduce financial pressure and help the family meet the everyday needs of a large household while the mother recovers and returns to work. The family is doing everything they can to remain self-sufficient and would greatly benefit from this support
