During the recent Victorian bushfire event, one resident and his wife were forced to evacuate their home, which is also their place of business. Between their four-day absence, an extended power outage that resulted in major food loss, the significant loss of trade that extended weeks beyond the bushfire event, their personal wellbeing as well as their business, took a major hit.
This business is the residents only form of income, and it relies primarily on tourist trade. When this ceased, so did their earnings, leaving them struggling to provide even the necessities for themselves. In the wake of the bushfire as communities struggle to recover, this hasn’t changed as they struggle to access essentials.
Any support provided would be greatly appreciated and allow this couple to provide for their basic needs.
