Support needed for a woman living rurally outside Lismore with severe, long-term health conditions. She is immunocompromised, has a history of cancer, chronic pain, and PTSD as a result of past sexual assault. We are assisting her to complete her Disability Support Pension application, which depends on attending critical specialist appointments.
This client had a really bad day and lost both her car and phone in the same day. These items are her essential lifeline as she lives 30 minutes out of town and there is lack of public transport, so she was effectively cut off from her support systems. She paid for the car and phone repairs with all the money she had, leaving her with no money left for food, fuel, or medications. She has exhausted all options and without immediate support, she will miss essential medical care.
