With a deep compassion for animals, a woman in her late 50s is doing everything she can to care for the vulnerable animals who rely on her despite her own ongoing health challenges following losses due to the Longwood Bushfire in January 2026.
She has lost all critical farm infrastructure, including fencing, tools, firewood, and essential fodder. Trees down across the property have made the land difficult and physically demanding to navigate, placing further strain on her health.
Her property is a refuge for abused, neglected, and injured farm animals, but with fencing gone, their safety is at risk. The loss of fodder has also created an urgent challenge in meeting their feeding needs.
