Our kitchen hums with purpose every Thursday morning, as volunteers prep and cook nutritious meals. On Monday, a team arrives to pack and deliver these lifelines to neighbors weathering silent storms. For many recipients, our volunteers are the only bridge back to the world.
We reach those upended by crisis: seniors trapped by social isolation whose only conversation is our delivery driver; individuals battling chronic illness unable to stand at a stove; and survivors of domestic violence rebuilding safety in transitional housing. Amidst a housing crisis and financial insecurity, a delivered meal allows families to divert scarce funds toward rent and survival.
Our volunteers—mostly seniors on fixed incomes or low-income families—provide the heart, but rising fuel costs threaten this mission. Fuel vouchers ensure these generous souls aren't financially penalized for their kindness, keeping our wheels turning for those needing a hand up.
