Volunteer needs support to buy life-changing medications

A volunteer who donates three days a week of his time to volunteer at a neighborhood centre whilst navigating home insecurity himself, is reaching out for support to pay for potentially life changing medication.
Five years ago, he escaped from a violent household and was put into temporary accommodation, where he was violently assaulted. His back was broken during the assault and he lives with ongoing pain that affects him to this day. It prevents him from working in his chosen field, adding a financial barrier to receiving proper treatment.
His doctor has recently suggested a new course of treatment for his chronic pain, however the out of pocket expenses are in excess of $1000. As welfare recipient who pays excessive rent to his temporary accommodation provider, these costs are incredibly prohibitive.
He gives selflessly and is a valuable asset to his community. It would be amazing to see the love he shares returned.
