Mum and teen son experiencing DFV and homelessness
Domestic & Family Violence
Mum and her teenage son have experienced significant and prolonged domestic and family violence, resulting in severe physical injury to Mum and ongoing trauma for both family members. As a direct result of the violence, the family is currently sleeping rough (camping) in the community.
Mum has sustained life-altering injuries and has complex health and mobility needs, which significantly impact her daily functioning. Despite these challenges, both Mum and her son are engaged with multiple support services and are actively working towards securing safe and stable housing.
Immediate priorities is to stabilise their living situation, as well as seeking financial assistance to support the family’s basic health and wellbeing while sleeping rough. Additional financial support is also being sought to assist the son in maintaining school attendance and engagement, ensuring he is able to continue to thrive educationally despite their current circumstances (needing books, a bike, etc).
