Single mum and tween aged daughter, experienced DV for just over 6 years. Ex-partner was very controlling and violent.
They were homeless at one stage, sleeping in a hire car and completely isolated from friends and family. They’ve since been lucky enough to secure housing.
Daughter has been experiencing bullying at school which has led to her completely refusing to go to school. Mum has had to quit her job which has impacted her financially and also affected her mental health and self confidence. She picks up contract cleaning work here and there.
They are working through the issue of school refusal with a youth worker and are both now receiving therapy for the issues and trauma of the DV experience.
This family could really benefit from some financial assistance.
