Our school program supports families and children in breaking down barriers to be successful in school and education. We work very closely with School Guidance Officers, Women's Centres, Homeless and Housing and Community Centres. We have numerous requests from other services and walk-in requesting support for Uniforms and other school supplies to get their children back into school asap. School Savvy is in need of Backpacks, Water bottles & lunch boxes to support children re-engaging in school.
The families we work with are often victims of domestic family violence or at risk of homelessness. This impacts the children as they are forced to leave their school friends behind and start fresh in a new school. Our program is able to support with stationary, books and uniforms however require support for families with other essential items. We average about 5 requests per week for support with resources which continues to rise due to cost of living.
