First time young mother is due to give birth to baby in March. She has a visual impairment and is legally blind. This is caused by a genetic mutation where cancer develops in the eyes. She has had one cancerous eye removed when she was 7 years old and received chemotherapy and radiation. There is a 50/50 chance baby will also have the genetic mutation. If results are positive, baby will be delivered early in order to start low grade chemotherapy/radiation treatment. Her goal is to build her confidence and independence as a nurturing parent providing her baby with a high quality of life.
