A solo mother with 2 sons. One is 18 and has cancer having extensive treatment at Peter Mac in Melbourne.
Good morning. I am supporting a lovely young mum with 2 sons 10 and 18 years old. They are immigrants to Australia and have been her for many years now. They have no other family here and her husband passed away a few years ago. The older son is having extensive treatment for aggressive cancer at Peter Mac in Melbourne and this will be on going. Mum is not able to drive due to her own health issues, so does rely on other people to drive her 45 minutes each way to be with her son, Mum feels guilty to ask other people as it is a lot to ask others. Mum is unable to work so is struggling financially. She has to sometimes borrow money from others and gets a very small payment from Centrelink. Mum seems to be a very stoic lady and does not like to ask for help but at the moment everything is overwhelming to her. It would be lovely to be able to offer this family a small fuel voucher to give to others that are driving her and maybe a grocery voucher to help with food costs. Thankyou
