The client is a proud Aboriginal LGBTQIA+ person who has experienced significant marginalisation, homelessness, hardship and barriers to stable housing and support. Following a period of housing instability, the client has recently secured a new home and is working towards stability, independence and a positive future.
A washing machine would provide an essential household item currently beyond the client’s financial capacity. Access to a washing machine would support personal hygiene, clean clothing and a healthy home environment, while reducing the financial and practical burden of laundromat services.
The client is engaged with support services and is working towards maintaining the tenancy, strengthening independence and pursuing education and employment opportunities. A washing machine would provide practical support during this important transition and contribute to dignity, stability and a sense of belonging within the new home.
