Client is experiencing financial hardship following a recent family violence incident, with police removing the ex-partner from the home. The client is now managing the situation independently on a Centrelink income. Client has also recently experienced bereavement and lives with ongoing impacts of trauma. A child in their care has been exposed to family violence and requires ongoing stability and support. The client is engaged with legal and wellbeing services and is actively working toward stabilisation. Due to current circumstances, the client has limited financial capacity to meet basic needs or replace essential items within the home. This support will assist in meeting immediate basic needs, reduce financial stress, and support stability for the client and child during a critical recovery period.

A woman is enduring the aftermath of trauma within a home she shares ownership of with her controlling ex-partner, who has stopped contributing to the costs, leaving her to carry the burden alone. While she continues to work tirelessly in the community, her financial resources are drained each fortnight, and she struggles to meet basic needs. The emotional toll of her situation is immense — not only is she dealing with the trauma from her ex-partner’s control, but her son has disengaged from her due to the pain he’s witnessed. She is awaiting support from Women’s Legal Services, but the road to stability feels long and uncertain. Despite her resilience, the weight of her circumstances is wearing her down, and she urgently needs support to rebuild her life and regain control.
