Fridge/Freezer - Medium (300-550L)

Mirrabooka WA 6061

This gentleman is experiencing financial hardship and is unable to purchase a replacement refrigerator. His current fridge is malfunctioning, with excessive ice build-up and ineffective cooling. As he enjoys cooking and relies on meal preparation, this issue is significantly affecting his ability to safely store food. Due to physical limitations that restrict his mobility and ability to shop frequently, meal prepping is essential for him to maintain regular access to meals. The lack of a functional fridge is therefore having a substantial impact on his daily living and wellbeing.

Recipient story

When Strength Isn’t Enough: A Quiet Fight for Comfort, Safety, and Dignity Through Chronic Pain
Other hardship(s)
A 63‑year‑old gentleman, formerly a skilled carpenter, is living with permanent ligament damage following a serious fall. He relies on a leg brace and experiences worsening pain, making everyday tasks such as carrying groceries physically demanding. Despite his resilience and use of traditional healing practices, these challenges are beginning to impact his mental health. Limited mobility means he relies on taxis and public transport, contributing to ongoing Economic Hardship.
With no family support and ineligible for Aged Care Support, he manages independently, though his safety and wellbeing are increasingly at risk. Compounding this, he cannot afford to replace his malfunctioning refrigerator, making safe food storage difficult. As he depends on meal preparation, this further affects his daily living, nutrition, independence, and mental health
