Man living with disability (down syndromw), transitioning to independence after period of grief and struggle
GIVIT
After losing both of his parents within the last year, a man living with Down syndrome found himself without safe housing for the first time in his life. With no other options available, he was placed in unsuitable bedsit style accommodation surrounded by drug use and criminal activity. Conditions that caused him immense fear, stress and trauma whilst trying to navigate his own loss.
He has now secured his own safe, long‑term home and is determined to make a fresh start. He loves cooking, cleaning until everything shines, and gardening. As he cannot work and relies solely on disability support payments, he is seeking help to purchase essential homewares to make his new space a true home. Your support can give him the stability, dignity, and hopeful new beginning he deserves.
As he doesn't drive and due to privacy, we are unable to accept second hand goods and are instead requesting small vouchers to purchase essentials.
He would be BEYOND grateful, for any support received.
