Help a victim-survivor of family violence get her mobility back after a car accident
Domestic & Family Violence
Other hardship(s)
Client is a victim-survivor of family violence who now lives alone. In the past year, she was involved in a car accident that injured her legs. She is undergoing rehabilitation and has been diagnosed with lymphedema, which causes swelling and makes walking difficult. She uses a walker and attends a specialist rehabilitation centre for aqua therapy and physiotherapy three times a week. Her car was written off, leaving her without private transport. She cannot use public transport due to mobility issues and is self-funding Ubers and DiDi rides, placing significant strain on her finances. She often cancels essential appointments due to transport costs or foregoes other essentials to pay for transport. She is socially isolated with limited supports to assist her. She would greatly benefit from transport vouchers (Uber, DiDi, or taxi) to travel from St Kilda to Moorabbin; alternatively, grocery vouchers would help free up funds for transport so that she could prioritise her healing.
