Support exhausted parents of children with disabilities find connection, comfort, and mental health support.
We are partnering with our local Special School to create a series of wellbeing morning teas for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities - a group who are quietly carrying an enormous load every day. Many of these parents are experiencing deep exhaustion, burnout, and isolation. Their lives are often centred entirely around caring responsibilities, leaving little time, energy, or financial capacity to seek support for themselves. For some, this will be one of the only spaces where they are not “the carer,” but simply a person who can pause, breathe, and be supported. These morning teas will offer more than just a cup of coffee. They will create a safe, welcoming space where parents and carers can sit together, share their experiences, and realise they are not alone. Guided by accredited Mental Health Social Workers, the sessions will gently support wellbeing, connection, and hope.
