A refugee family of five from Syria is rebuilding their lives after fleeing war and the loss of their father. The family has experienced significant trauma and hardship and is still adjusting to life in Australia with very limited support networks. The eldest son has taken on the responsibility of supporting the household and helping his mother manage daily life, as she has very limited English and little experience navigating services independently.
The family is committed to creating a stable future. They attend English classes and are trying to gain new skills and become independent. However, they continue to face financial hardship and struggle to meet essential household needs. Their current home has three bedrooms but no adequate heating setup, making winter extremely difficult for the family. Urgent support is needed to help provide proper heating and create a safe and comfortable living environment.
