Flooding 2022
First Nations Elder woman living in public housing needing a phone. She has a 12-yr old phone which no longer updates or charges properly. She grew up in a family that was abusive and her mother was a victim of DV. She left early to escape the abuse and then married a man who exerted coercive control. Once her children were old enough, she left the marriage and has been on her own ever since. She has just finished paying off her mum's funeral bill and supports her local community center volunteering by helping people who want to learn how to crochet. She lives in public housing and recently got her purse stolen so she had to replace all her identification and apply for a hardship clause on her rent which allowed her to pay in instalments. She has no laptop at home or home phone and needs a working phone to pay her bills, receive emails, and keep in touch with her family and friends. Any support would be greatly appreciated in keeping her safe and contactable in this life.
